The project <strong>\u201cPost-Transition Processes in Croatia: Migration, Education, Identity and Sustainable Urban Development\u201d<\/strong> examines how these changes affect citizens\u2019 everyday lives, their educational and career pathways, social values, sense of belonging to the community, and the quality of life of different social groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Particular attention is devoted to anti-intellectualism and lifelong learning, migration and the return of the Croatian diaspora, social values and trust in institutions, urban development and spatial inequalities, as well as the well-being and social inclusion of vulnerable groups. The project seeks to understand how these processes interact and how they shape contemporary Croatian society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The research is based on an interdisciplinary approach that brings together sociology, demography, psychology, geography, migration studies, and public policy. By employing surveys, interviews, longitudinal research, and spatial analysis, the project will provide evidence-based insights into the social processes that characterise post-transition Croatia. The findings will be made available to the academic community, policymakers, and the wider public through scientific publications, open-access databases, conferences, and science communication activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project Objectives<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main objective of the project is to advance the understanding of key post-transition processes in Croatia by examining the relationships between cultural patterns, migration dynamics, social inclusion, and citizens\u2019 quality of life, while providing an empirical basis for the development of sustainable and inclusive public policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More specifically, the project will investigate the impact of anti-intellectualism on citizens\u2019 educational and career outcomes, analyse the motivations and barriers associated with the return of the Croatian diaspora, and examine perceptions of societal strengths and weaknesses as well as trust in institutions across different generations. The project will also explore spatial inequalities in access to education, mobility, and other social resources, together with different dimensions of the psychological and social well-being of vulnerable groups, including foreign workers, women, persons with disabilities, and retirees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Particular emphasis will be placed on developing policy recommendations that can contribute to greater social cohesion, lifelong learning, more successful population integration, and more balanced regional and urban development in Croatia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Croatian society has undergone profound social, economic, and cultural changes over recent decades, driven by processes of transition, European integration, migration, demographic change, and the transformation of the labour market.
